Bohemian & Earthy Rooftop Design
Transforming urban rooftops into serene, nature-inspired getaways. I use organic materials like bamboo and rattan to create that Goa or Tulum vibe right where you are.
A conceptual render for the 6th Empirica rooftop, designed to be a tranquil escape. The combination of earthy tones, soft lighting, and natural wood creates an atmosphere of pure sukoon.
At Sesh in Delhi, I designed these dome-shaped cabanas to offer private, intimate seating areas. They provide a sense of enclosure while still being open to the sky, perfect for a rooftop experience.

This night view of the 6th Empirica concept highlights the seating arrangement along a curved, built-in bench, with arched nooks and warm, indirect lighting creating a cozy and intimate setting.

About Rooftop Escapes: Bohemian & Earthy
It is not just about the look. When I design these rooftops, I focus on airflow and texture—using raw bamboo, stone, and lime wash finishes that keep the space cool and grounded. You are not just getting a layout; you are getting a functional escape that feels like a natural extension of the open sky, designed specifically for your building's sun patterns.
When I take on a rooftop project, I am looking for that 'kulbulahat'—that spark of excitement that tells me the space has potential. I steer clear of generic, sterile setups. Instead, I focus on tactile, living materials that age beautifully.
For a project like Sesh, the goal was to create a sense of enclosure without losing the openness of the sky. We achieved this through custom bamboo cabanas and textured straw ceilings, which naturally dampen sound and soften harsh sunlight. The result is a 'bohemian haven' that feels like a quick trip to the coast, right in the city.
The process is entirely hands-on. I am on-site during the 'touch of mud' phase, ensuring the textures are exactly as they need to be. We use irregular stone flooring, not just for the look, but because the unevenness grounds the space. Whether you are building a rooftop cafe, a restaurant, or a private terrace, I design for the way people actually move and relax in these spaces.
If you are looking to turn your terrace into a sanctuary, let us talk about your site. We work with everything from raw brick partitions to intricate, sculptural lighting, ensuring your rooftop becomes a place of true sukoon.
