Vibrant Color Portraits
I bring your memories to life with rich, vivid pigments. Choose between the soft, realistic finish of color pencils or the bold, modern look of poster colors for a personalized gift that lasts.
This time-lapse shows the creation of a custom family portrait using colored pencils. I enjoy the process of layering and blending colors to achieve a vibrant, lifelike quality that makes the artwork pop. This is a great option for turning a beloved family photo into a colorful keepsake.
Poster colors allow for a bold and graphic style, which I used for this custom couple's portrait. The video shows my process, from painting the individuals to the final artwork being framed and gifted. This style is perfect for a modern and impactful piece of art.
About Vibrant Color Portraits
I use the grid method to ensure the likeness is exact, whether I am working with wax-based Polychromos pencils for soft skin tones or poster colors for a graphic pop. Since I work on high-GSM Bristol or archival paper, these portraits are made to last rather than just look good for a season.
The choice between color pencils and poster colors depends entirely on the vibe you want for your space. When you choose a realistic color pencil portrait, I use premium, wax-based pencils like Polychromos. These allow for those smooth, layered skin tones that feel warm and lifelike. It is a slow, meditative process, but the results are honest and gentle.
If you prefer something more contemporary, my poster color or gouache style offers a bold, graphic aesthetic. The colors are flat, vibrant, and clean, making them perfect for modern homes or as a striking, personalized gift.
Regarding the logistics, I prioritize safety throughout the process. If you are based in Bengaluru, every commission comes framed with a synthetic wood finish. For outstation orders, I take extra care to pack the artwork flat between hardboards or in a protective PVC tube, depending on the material, so it reaches you without a scratch.
Beyond the materials, there is the technique. I do not take shortcuts. I rely on the grid method to map out proportions, ensuring the face you see on paper looks exactly like the person you know from your favorite photo. Whether it is an A4 individual sketch or an A2 family centerpiece, the level of detail remains consistent. You send the reference photo, we discuss the composition, and I begin the work. Once finished, every piece is sealed with a professional matte fixative to prevent smudging and keep the pigments vibrant for years to come.
