Corrective Exercises for Better Posture and Pain Relief
Rounded backs and stiff necks are common, but they should not be your new normal. I use simple, targeted movements and specific props to unlock tight muscles and help you stand straight again.
A rounded upper back, or 'hunchback', is a growing problem I address with targeted exercises. This video shows my process of identifying the issue and guiding a client through movements that strengthen key posture muscles like the rhomboids and trapezius.
Many people lack proper wrist mobility, which can cause issues. In this instructional video, I explain how to use a wrist roller not just for forearm strength, but more importantly, to improve the joint's range of motion, which is crucial for daily activities and preventing pain.
About Corrective Exercises for Modern Posture
I do not believe in generic fixes for posture issues. We start with a functional movement screen to map your spinal alignment, looking for left-right imbalances or specific stiffness. Then, we use simple tools like bamboo sticks and resistance bands to wake up dormant muscles, specifically tailoring movements to fix the rounded back or stiff neck caused by your daily desk habits.
I see many office workers and teenagers dealing with hunchback issues from too much screen time. This is not something you fix by just lifting heavy in the gym. If you force weight training on a body that is already misaligned, you only risk further injury. My approach is different. We focus on form calibration and structural analysis first.
Using visual posture mapping, we identify exactly which support muscles like your rhomboids and glutes are dormant. Once we know the baseline, I teach you specific mobility flows and prop-based exercises that take about 10 minutes a day. These are not complicated gym routines. They are practical adjustments to your movement patterns that you can do at home.
Sometimes, the issue is deeper, involving tight fascia or stubborn muscle knots. In those cases, we integrate manual therapies like IASTM scraping or trigger point release to clear the blockage before we start the corrective movement. The goal is to move you away from compensation patterns and back to a natural, pain-free posture.
