Mentoring the Next Generation of Legal Talent
I believe law school is only half the battle. I regularly visit colleges in Delhi to share the reality of litigation, conduct workshops, and connect with students who are ready for the courtroom grind.
It was a pleasure representing the Chamber at an internship fair at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management. I was impressed by the enthusiasm and legal knowledge of the students.
Receiving a token of appreciation at the internship fair. Interacting with bright young minds who are eager to enter the legal profession is always a rewarding experience.
About Mentoring the Next Generation
I head out to colleges not just for lectures, but to see who is actually ready for the courtroom. My internship process is simple: if you can digest a complex judgment into a two-page brief without the legalese, you are halfway there.
When I visit institutions like the Maharaja Agrasen Institute, I see a lot of potential but very little exposure to the real grind. Law school teaches you the sections, but it does not teach you how to deal with a judge who is having a bad day or a client who is panicking at 11 PM. That is the gap I try to bridge.
At Law Chambers of Amish Aggarwala, we do not treat interns like paper-movers. You are part of the team. You see the strategy sessions, you hear the arguments, and yes, you handle the files. It is messy, it is fast-paced, and it is the only way to really learn how this job works.
If you are a law student, do not just look for a certificate to add to your CV. Look for a place where you will actually be taught how to think, not just how to copy-paste precedents. I am always looking for students who have the patience to sit through a five-hour hearing and the curiosity to ask why the judge ruled the way they did. If that sounds like you, get in touch.
Karan Ahuja
I am Karan. I believe legal education is mostly theory, so I head out to colleges to show students what real litigation looks like—the highs, the lows, and the late-night tea. If you are a student trying to figure out your path, I am happy to share what I have learned the hard way.
