Mentoring Future Lawyers: Practical Legal Guidance
I don't believe in keeping legal knowledge locked in courtrooms. Whether it is judging moot courts or sharing real-world practice hacks, I am here to bridge the gap between textbooks and daily litigation for students.
On the judging panel for the Brown Mosten International Client Consultation Competition at Lloyd School of Law. It is always inspiring to see the skill and dedication of law students as they prepare for their careers.
Receiving a memento in appreciation for my role as a judge. These events are a fantastic opportunity to connect with legal academia and contribute to the practical training of future lawyers.

Serving as a judge at the National Moot Court Competition. My role involves carefully evaluating arguments and providing constructive criticism to help students sharpen their advocacy skills.
Deep in thought while reviewing materials during a moot court competition. Judging these events takes me back to my own college days and reinforces my love for the law.

I authored this book of solved test papers specifically for LLB students at the University of Delhi. It is a practical tool designed to help them prepare for exams and understand key legal concepts.
Visiting my alma mater, Miranda House, University of Delhi, to speak with students. I share my journey as a female advocate to inspire and inform those considering a career in law.
Another memory from Miranda House. My education here was foundational, and I enjoy every opportunity to return and connect with the current generation of students.
About Mentoring Future Lawyers
Students often ask me how to navigate the shift from theory to the real-world pressures of the High Court. When I judge a moot court or deliver a guest lecture, I do not just focus on the law—I talk about the practical grit you need. I share the exact courtroom dynamics and client-handling skills that you will not find in your standard LLB textbooks.
Bridging Law School and the Real World
Law school provides the foundation, but the transition to actual practice is where most students get stuck. I am a first-generation lawyer, so I know exactly what it feels like to stand at the start of that journey with zero connections in the legal fraternity.
My mentorship approach is hands-on and born from my daily life at Legalon Advocates. I work with law colleges across Delhi-NCR to help students understand what life is really like inside the district courts and the High Court.
How I Support Legal Education
- Moot Court Judging: I look beyond just the legal citation. I evaluate students on their presence of mind, how they handle unexpected questions from the bench, and their ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Guest Lectures: My talks cover the unglamorous side of advocacy—managing client expectations, the importance of networking as a junior, and how to balance the demands of the profession with your personal life.
- Career Guidance: I am happy to share insights on choosing your first internship, navigating the early years of litigation, or even the practical realities of starting your own practice.
My Approach to Mentorship
I believe in bilingual engagement—mixing English with Hindi because that is how the courts actually function in India. Whether I am visiting my alma mater, Miranda House, or speaking at a private law school, my goal is to give students a reality check. I do not sugarcoat the struggle, but I show them that with the right approach, building a successful career in law is absolutely possible. If you are an event organizer looking for a speaker who brings real-world perspective rather than theoretical lectures, let's connect.
