Practical Legal Mentorship & Courtroom Training
Law school gives you the theory, but the courtroom gives you the reality. Join me for honest career guidance and hands-on training to navigate the legal profession in Delhi.
A glimpse from the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) Summer Internship Programme. As I often tell my interns, you will always face two paths. I hope to give you the strength to choose the 'kathin raasta' (difficult path) that is undeniably right.
Day 1 of the DLSA Training at Rouse Avenue Court Complex. It is always a privilege to be a part of these programs and help shape the next generation of government counsels and advocates.
Day 2 of the DLSA Training, focusing on the crucial topic of Victim Compensation. Understanding the practical application of such schemes is a key part of a comprehensive legal education.
Day 3 of the DLSA Training, where we delved into the practical skills of Examination and Cross-Examination. Standing at the 'Nyaymanch' (podium of justice) is a feeling every law student should aspire to.
A session with my interns at the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR). It is important to choose good thoughts and intentions, as they shape our actions and ultimately, our reality as legal professionals.
About Hands-On Legal Mentorship
Mentorship with me is not about sitting in an office; it is about standing in the registry queue at Rouse Avenue to understand how to file petitions, removing objections, and reading the daily cause list. You will see how an actual cross-examination unfolds, far removed from the scripted dramas you might have seen, and learn the gritty procedural details that nobody teaches in law school.
The Reality of Practice
Law school teaches you the statutes, but the courtroom teaches you how to survive. My mentorship programs in Delhi are designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and the daily grind of litigation. Whether you are a high schooler considering law, a student navigating a mid-semester slump, or an intern looking to build a CV that actually stands out, I provide a realistic, no-sugarcoating perspective.
What You Will Learn
- Procedural Literacy: We cover the basics—how to file petitions, how to deal with the registry, and how to track your case on the court display board.
- Courtroom Observation: You won’t just watch; you will understand the strategy behind cross-examinations, witness handling, and how advocates manage the judge-lawyer interaction.
- Career Roadmap: I offer CV critiques, internship advice, and honest talks about what to expect—income, pressure, and the patience required for litigation.
- Ethics First: My practice is built on the kathin raasta—choosing the difficult, ethical path over the shortcut. I mentor students who want to be principled advocates, not just efficient paper-pushers.
Sessions are conducted both online for roadmap consultations and in-person at Delhi courts for shadowing. If you are serious about building a foundation in Civil, Criminal, or Matrimonial law, come prepared to work.
