When I step away from my caricature board, I love diving into different art styles. Take a look at some of my personal canvas work from recent competitions here in Bengaluru.
Here I am working on an acrylic painting on canvas for a competition. The theme was 'Karnataka Janapada Kalegalu' (Folk Arts of Karnataka).

About Additional Artwork
This specific acrylic piece focused on 'Karnataka Janapada Kalegalu,' or the folk arts of Karnataka. It was an exciting challenge to translate these traditional forms onto canvas, and it really helped me push my own boundaries beyond the usual marker sketches.
I participated in a competition at the Rangoli Metro Art Center, which gave me the space to step back from live sketching and spend more time with my brushes. Working with acrylics on a larger canvas feels very different from my usual quick caricature portraits. While I love the speed and immediate reaction of a live event, I also enjoy the patient process of painting where I can layer colors and add fine details.
This piece was my way of celebrating local culture. I wanted to capture the essence of our folk traditions in a single frame. The feedback I got from other artists and participants was encouraging, and it reminded me why I started this journey. Whether I am drawing a caricature at a wedding or finishing a painting, the goal is always the same. I want to create something that connects with people and makes them smile.
