Garden Transformation and Landscape Makeovers
See the evolution of barren plots, empty rooftops, and neglected corners into lush, personal sanctuaries. I design spaces where nature and architecture find harmony.
From a bare construction site to a tranquil farmhouse garden. This transformation highlights the power of structured planting, featuring a dense golden cypress wall and a quiet seating area, turning a simple plot into a private escape.
This before and after shows the creation of a modern Zen inspired entryway. A plain path is transformed with artificial turf, clean lines, white pebbles, and carefully placed bonsai trees, creating a serene and structured welcome.
Watch this plain balcony turn into a dreamy oasis. The transformation includes a warm wooden deck, cozy seating with plush cushions, and elegant planters, proving that even small spaces can become systematic and sophisticated retreats.
From a forgotten, debris filled corner to a breathtaking backyard oasis. This transformation shows how we turned a useless space into a stunning garden retreat, complete with a cozy sitting area and a soothing fountain.
This is the turnaround of a simple boundary wall. What was once bare earth is now a lush, green border with a classic balustrade, ferns, and tropical palms, adding a touch of elegance and privacy to the villa.
A view of a farmhouse project from a barren field to a lush, green landscape. This shows the complete journey of creating a sprawling lawn, complete with manicured shrubs and a beautiful wooden house as the centerpiece.
Under the timeless shade of a banyan tree, this space was transformed from a simple patch of dirt into a sophisticated outdoor lounge. The bold, monochrome geometric flooring and comfortable seating create a modern yet natural bar area.
About this collection
I don't just plant greenery, I engineer the soil and structure. For every before and after you see here, there was a technical plan—soil drainage assessment, wind-load calculation for high-rises, and structural leveling—before a single stone was laid. A beautiful garden fails if the foundation is not built to survive the harsh Delhi seasons, so we ensure the ground and the infrastructure are ready for the plants to thrive.
My process is rooted in the philosophy of 'Amor Fati,' or loving one's fate. I see the raw, unfinished state of a backyard or a dusty terrace not as a flaw, but as a blank canvas waiting for its story to begin. When I walk onto a construction site, I look past the debris and imagine the sanctuary it could become.
Whether it is a high-rise balcony in a bustling neighborhood or a sprawling farmhouse on the city outskirts, the transformation follows a rigorous path. It begins with site analysis—checking how the sun moves throughout the day and understanding the wind patterns. For villa projects, I often use soil engineering to ensure the earth is nutrient-rich, and for terraces, we focus on weight management and efficient drainage systems.
I believe in transparency throughout this evolution. The tasveer (picture) at the end is bahut khoobsurat (very beautiful), but getting there takes patience. I will guide you through the technicalities of material selection, from selecting the right weather-proof decking to sourcing statement specimen trees that provide immediate height and shade. My goal is to create a living piece of art that requires practical, sustainable care so it stays healthy without needing constant intervention.
Whispering Gardens
I'm Ritu. I spent years in Delhi as a mathematics lecturer before finding my true calling in garden design while training at Inchbald in London. For me, creating a garden is an act of gratitude, blending the discipline of design with the peace that nature brings.
