About Candid Ceremony & Rituals
I stay out of the way during your ceremony to capture things exactly as they happen. Because I use prime lenses on a compact Sony Alpha setup, I can move quickly through the crowd to get those close-up, emotional reactions during rituals without ever making you stop or pose.
My approach to wedding rituals is simple, I want you to be yourself. Whether it is a traditional Maharashtrian ceremony, a Nikah, or a Christian wedding, the most important shots are the ones you did not plan. I look for the fleeting connections, like the way you look at each other during the Varmala or a shared laugh during the Haldi, that make your day yours.
How I Cover Your Rituals
- Unobtrusive Presence: My team and I work to remain invisible. We do not block the view of your guests or interrupt the priest, ensuring your rituals flow naturally.
- Technical Detail: I use prime lenses for their low-light performance and shallow depth of field. This allows me to pull focus entirely on the subject, separating the couple from the busy background typical of Indian wedding venues.
- Cultural Fluency: I have extensive experience with different cultural traditions. I know exactly when to be ready for the ring exchange, the Antarpat, or the Bidaai. You do not need to guide me on the sequence of events.
Why Candid Matters
Traditional wedding photography often relies on staged group shots where everyone is looking at the lens. I do those too, but my main focus is on the story. When you look back at your album in ten years, you should see the raw emotion on your mother's face, the playful energy of your friends, and the genuine joy of your partner, not just a series of posed statues. My deliverable is a complete visual story, covering everything from the fine details of your jewellery to the grandest moments of your ceremony.
