Mehndi is art that you feel. Whether you want a clean, modern design for your next celebration or you are looking to learn the craft, I share my techniques for sharp, organic patterns here.

An intricate and flowing Indo-Arabic design. I teach how to combine the boldness of Arabic mehndi with the fine, detailed fillers of Indian patterns.

This modern back-hand design features a unique cuff filled with delicate floral work. It's a perfect example of the contemporary styles we explore in my classes.

A full back-hand design with a mix of geometric grids and bold floral patterns. This shows how to create contrast and balance in a complex piece.

A classic jaal (net) pattern, but with a creative twist. I teach students how to start with a simple grid and fill it with beautiful, repeating motifs for a stunning effect.

The process of creating a modern floral and lattice-work design on the back of the hand. This style is very popular for parties and festivals.

A bold and beautiful lotus design with a striped background. This technique makes the central motifs pop and is a great skill for students to learn for creating impactful designs.

A simple yet elegant lotus bel (vine) design for the back of the hand. This is a great starting point for beginners to practice line work and symmetry.

From a single line to a beautiful peacock and lotus motif. This video breaks down how to create classic Indian motifs, a fundamental skill for any mehndi artist.

A creative take on the classic peacock design, incorporating a palm tree. I encourage my students to think outside the box and combine traditional motifs in new ways.

The creation of a detailed mandala, or gole tikki, design. I teach the step-by-step process of building these symmetrical patterns from the center outwards.

About Everyday Elegance: Arabic, Floral & Modern Designs

People often ask why my lines look so sharp. It is not just the hand, but the mixology. I use only pure, organic Rajasthani Sojat powder mixed with essential oils. This doesn't just give a deeper color, it makes the paste flow smoother from the cone, which is why you see such clean lines in these Arabic and floral patterns.

While bridal work captures attention, the everyday elegance of Arabic and modern floral designs is where the real skill is tested. Arabic mehndi relies on bold, sweeping lines and negative space, which gives me zero room for error. When I teach these designs in my Nangloi studio, I focus on 'cone control'. If you cannot control the pressure, you cannot get the flow.

I break down my style into simple, replicable steps. Whether it is a traditional lotus motif or a contemporary mandala, we start by understanding the structure. You will learn how to build a design from the center out, balancing symmetry and keeping the lines crisp.

Many of my students come to me thinking it is just about drawing, but it is really about the paste consistency. That is why I teach the chemistry behind my organic mix. You learn how to prep the skin, hold the cone like a pen, and shade with precision. My classes are meant to be hands-on, so whether you are a beginner picking up a cone for the first time or an artist trying to refine your Arabic strokes, we work together to get your art exactly where you want it to be.
