About Family & Sibling Portraits: The Ties That Bind
Capturing family portraits is more than just getting everyone to sit still and smile. I plan the props, poses, and themes before you arrive, ensuring your children stay engaged and comfortable throughout the session. Whether we are working with a solid color backdrop in my studio or letting loose during an outdoor color splash, my priority is capturing those genuine, unscripted giggles that happen between the poses.
Choosing Your Session Type
Family portraits can take many forms depending on what you want to remember. We offer two main environments for these sessions:
- Studio Sessions: Located in HRBR Layout, Kalyan Nagar, these are ideal for controlled, artistic lighting and detailed prop setups. We use these for traditional family portraits, sibling poses, and themed sessions like our popular color splash shoots.
- Outdoor Sessions: If your family prefers more movement, I recommend an outdoor shoot during the golden hour. This is perfect for capturing candid, lifestyle moments in Bangalore's parks and open spaces.
How We Manage the Chaos
I understand that kids, especially toddlers, do not always follow instructions. My approach is to create an environment where children can play and explore. We don't force stiff poses. Instead, we use your kids' natural curiosity to guide the session. If siblings are energetic, we lean into that with activity-based photography rather than asking them to sit still for long periods.
Preparation Tips for Parents
To get the best results, coordination is key. I suggest choosing outfits that are complementary rather than matching exactly. Think of solid, neutral tones that won't distract from the expressions on your faces. If you have specific props or a family heirloom you want to include, let me know in advance so we can integrate them into the set design. My studio wardrobe is also available for kids up to 18 months, which helps simplify the packing process for you.
