A look at the results of my multi-modality approach to correcting deep acne scars and uneven skin texture.

This before-and-after comparison demonstrates the significant improvement possible for deep, textured acne scars. The patient on the left presented with a combination of atrophic scars. Through a personalized treatment plan involving multiple sessions, we achieved the smoother, more even skin texture you see on the right, restoring both the skin's surface and the patient's confidence.

In this video, I explain that not all acne scars are the same. I break down the different classifications, from deep ice pick and boxcar scars to rolling and raised hypertrophic scars. Understanding the specific type of scar you have is the most critical first step, as it dictates which combination of treatments, such as subcision, fractional CO2 laser, or MNRF, will be most effective.

Here you can see the transformative effect of the Fractional CO2 laser. The initial image shows prominent scarring and pigmentation near the eye. After just three sessions, the skin is visibly smoother, and the scars are significantly less noticeable. This laser resurfacing technique is one of my primary tools for treating deep, persistent acne scars by promoting collagen remodeling.

Patient feedback is a testament to the effectiveness of a thorough, personalized approach. This patient came to me after struggling for months with both active acne and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I am pleased that they saw significant improvement after just one consultation, which involved a detailed explanation of their treatment plan.

This guide illustrates the primary types of acne scars I treat. It is important to distinguish between atrophic scars like ice pick, boxcar, and rolling types, which are depressions in the skin, and hypertrophic or keloid scars, which are raised. Each requires a different therapeutic strategy for optimal results.

This video shows a Laser Toning procedure in progress. This is a gentle, non-invasive treatment I use to address pigmentation, minimize fine lines, and improve overall skin radiance. It works by targeting melanin deposits in the skin without damaging the surface, making it an excellent option for evening out skin tone left behind after acne.

This is another powerful example of scar and pigmentation treatment. The 'before' photo shows deep-set acne scars and significant dark spots. The 'after' photo reveals a much clearer and more radiant complexion. My goal is to not only reduce the scars but also to restore an even, healthy skin tone.

About Featured

Effective scar revision is not about applying a single laser to everyone. It requires identifying whether you have atrophic ice pick scars, deep boxcar depressions, or rolling fibrosis. I combine techniques like subcision for tethered scars and Fractional CO2 for resurfacing, ensuring the treatment matches the specific depth and classification of your scarring.
