Advanced Dermatology Treatment Protocols
I use a multi-modality approach to address stubborn acne scars, pigmentation, and uneven texture. Here is a look at the clinical protocols I use to restore skin health.
This video shows a Laser Toning procedure in progress. This is a gentle, non-invasive treatment I use to address pigmentation, minimize fine lines, and improve overall skin radiance. It works by targeting melanin deposits in the skin without damaging the surface.
This infographic outlines some of the primary treatments I use for acne scars. My approach often involves combining procedures like Microneedling, Fractional CO2 Lasers, PRP, Chemical Peels, and Dermal Fillers to address the specific types of scars a patient has.
This image shows a Carbon Laser Peel in progress. This is an excellent treatment for achieving a deep cleanse and instant brightness. It is particularly effective for individuals with oily skin, blackheads, and enlarged pores, helping to create a smoother, clearer canvas.
A close-up view of the Carbon Peel treatment. A layer of liquid carbon is applied to the skin, which penetrates deep into the pores. The laser is then used to vaporize the carbon particles, taking dead skin cells, contaminants, and oil with it.
This image shows a gentle laser treatment designed to reveal smooth, radiant skin. By targeting dark spots, acne scars, and uneven tone, this procedure helps restore the skin's natural luminosity with minimal downtime.
A chemical peel treatment being applied. This procedure uses a chemical solution to remove the outer layers of the skin, revealing smoother, less wrinkled skin underneath. I customize the type and strength of the peel based on the patient's skin concern, whether it's acne, pigmentation, or texture.
Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure used to renew overall skin tone and texture. This image shows the handpiece gently exfoliating the skin, which can improve the appearance of sun damage, fine lines, age spots, and acne scarring.
About this collection
Most skin concerns, particularly chronic acne scars or deep pigmentation, do not respond to a single, one-size-fits-all therapy. My protocols often involve a combination of techniques, such as pairing subcision with fractional CO2 lasers for texture, or utilizing chemical peels alongside laser toning to address superficial discoloration. I design these sequences specifically to match your skin's unique healing response rather than applying a standard template to every patient.
The Diagnostic Foundation
Before any procedure begins, I perform a thorough dermatological assessment to categorize the skin concern. This involves identifying the specific grade of acne or the type of scar (atrophic, boxcar, rolling, or ice-pick). Identifying the root cause—whether hormonal, dietary, or lifestyle-related—is a non-negotiable part of my protocol.
Clinical Modalities
I utilize a range of tools, selecting the right one for the specific depth and nature of your skin issue:
- Fractional CO2 Laser: Used for deep tissue remodeling and resurfacing of stubborn, pitted scars.
- Microneedling RF: A controlled collagen induction therapy that uses heat energy to remodel the skin from within.
- Subcision: A minor surgical technique where I manually release the fibrous bands causing deep, rolling scars to anchor the skin downward.
- Chemical Peels: Custom-strength acidic solutions used to exfoliate and brighten the skin, targeting hyperpigmentation and active breakouts.
Setting Expectations
It is important to understand that these treatments are not magic fixes. They require consistency. For example, laser toning for pigmentation typically requires a series of sessions to achieve measurable improvement. During your consultation, I will provide a clear breakdown of the expected downtime, the number of sessions required, and what you can realistically expect from your skin's healing process. My goal is to ensure you understand the 'why' behind every step of your treatment plan.
Sree Vasavi
I am Dr. Sree Vasavi. My practice at the Vasavi Skin Center in Thanisandra is built on one simple premise: identifying the root cause before touching a laser or needle. I do not believe in universal solutions, so I spend my time examining your skin's specific needs rather than following generic trends.
