I believe music is a shared journey. My workshops are collaborative spaces where we blend Carnatic roots with global improvisation, designed for everyone from curious beginners to seasoned pros.

A typical workshop scene where I'm explaining the structure of a raga using a whiteboard. I find that visualizing the notes helps students grasp the melodic framework of Carnatic music more intuitively.

This was a wonderful, intimate workshop in Bogotá. You can see the focused energy in the room as we dive into the rhythmic and melodic systems of Carnatic music. It’s a beautiful exchange of cultures.

Here we are, deep in discussion during a practical workshop. I love these moments of exchange where students ask questions and we explore the concepts together, making it a shared learning experience.

Leading a vocal session with an engaged group of learners. My goal is to create a comfortable space where everyone feels they can participate, listen, and contribute to the music we're making.

A wider view of one of my workshops, showing the collaborative atmosphere. We sit in a circle because music is a conversation, not a lecture. Everyone is part of the creative process.

A moment of interaction during a masterclass. A student shares an idea, and we build on it together. This is how we find new pathways in improvisation.

Pointing out the nuances of swara placement on the whiteboard. These details are the building blocks for creating authentic melodic expressions in Indian classical music.

Another angle from a teaching session, showing how I use the whiteboard to map out musical ideas. This hands-on approach is central to my teaching philosophy.

The room is full of curious minds. I believe teaching is about holding space for questions and fostering a deep sense of musical curiosity in every student.

A student asking a question during a workshop. These interactions are my favorite part of teaching, as they lead to deeper understanding for the entire group.

About Hands-On Workshops & Masterclasses

Forget formal lectures. In my sessions, we sit in a circle and use whiteboards to map out raga structures and rhythm patterns together. Whether we are breaking down a complex Konnakol pattern or exploring vocal improvisation, the goal is always to make the theory feel as natural and intuitive as humming a tune.
