The entrance is the first handshake of your event. I design immersive gateways and structured walkways using fresh flowers, rich fabrics, and dramatic lighting to set the tone for your guests.

To create a dramatic first impression, I designed this luxurious entrance walkway with rich, emerald green velvet drapes and magnificent tiered crystal chandeliers. The lush greenery and custom printed carpet guide guests into the main event space.

This grand entrance arch, adorned with hanging floral tassels and intricate lighting, was designed to be the perfect gateway to the main event. It sets a tone of opulence and celebration from the moment guests arrive.

A classic and elegant entrance is always a beautiful choice. Here, I used rich red and white drapes to create a long, inviting walkway, illuminated by warm candlelight and delicate hanging floral arrangements.

Another perspective of the red draped entrance, showing how the layers of fabric and hanging flowers create depth and a sense of procession for guests as they walk towards the main event area.

It's important to incorporate sacred elements beautifully. Within this entrance walkway, I created a special alcove for a Ganesh idol, decorated with pink flowers and soft lighting to offer a moment of peace and blessing.

This view from the end of the walkway shows the full effect of the draped entrance. The path is lined with floral urns and warm lights, creating a beautiful and welcoming passage for guests.

A clear, straight-on view of the red and white draped corridor. The symmetry of the drapes, chandeliers, and lighting creates a formal and grand path leading to the wedding festivities.

About Grand Entrances & Walkways

When planning your entrance, I always prioritize guest flow over density. A beautiful arch means nothing if your guests are squeezing through it, so I ensure the walkway width complements your venue space to make sure the arrival feels smooth, spacious, and intentional.

Your entrance acts as the opening act for your entire celebration. Whether it is a traditional Aagri wedding or a modern city reception, the goal is to draw your guests from the mundane reality of the street into the world you have created inside.

Designing the Flow

I look at the entrance as a transition zone. Using fabric layering, like deep emerald velvet or classic red satin, helps build depth and hides the venue's standard walls. My designs often incorporate elevated floral urns or Roman pillars to define the path, preventing guests from wandering aimlessly. For open-ground setups, I use rigid truss structures to support heavy lighting and hanging floral gardens, ensuring the decor stays stable even if the weather turns.

Lighting as a Guide

Lighting is not just for the stage. At the entrance, I use specific focal lighting to guide the eye. Chandeliers or soft fairy lights overhead create a canopy effect, while floor-level LED par cans wash the base of the drapes with warm color. This combination pulls people forward toward the main event area. If you want a more intimate feel, I lean toward candlelit runners and delicate tuberose strings.

Why it Matters

Since 1977, I have seen that guests decide how the evening will feel within seconds of walking through the gate. A cramped, poorly lit entrance sets a chaotic tone. A well-designed, airy walkway with a clear focal point at the end, like a Ganesh alcove or a personalized couple sign, builds anticipation and excitement before they even reach the reception stage. If you are working with a challenging venue layout, tell me about the space during our consultation. I can adapt these walkway designs to fit narrow corridors or sprawling lawns alike.
