Project Showcase: House Nandini
A contemporary interpretation of Vrindavan, where traditional culture meets a refined, comfortable modern living space.
The title card for our 'House Nandini' project, which we designed as a contemporary interpretation of Vrindavan. This image shows a glimpse of the living room's serene palette and clean lines.
A peek into the living space, where elegance and a refined palette create a beautiful and spiritual atmosphere. The striped armchair adds a classic touch to the modern, minimalist design.
The entrance foyer of 'House Nandini' is where culture complements comfort. A curated collection of decorative plates and a mirror creates an artistic focal point against the textured grey wall.
About Project Showcase: House Nandini
Designing for cultural sensitivity requires a delicate balance. At House Nandini, we did not just add traditional elements; we integrated the ornate mandir and pichwai art into the living room flow, ensuring the spiritual aspect felt like a natural extension of the space rather than an afterthought.
When we approach a project like House Nandini, our goal is to create a home that feels familiar yet fresh. The owners wanted a space that honoured their roots in Vrindavan without sacrificing the clean, modern aesthetic we are known for.
We began by selecting a palette that anchors the home in calm. Using grey tones on the seating and warm wood accents for the furniture allowed us to introduce heavier, more traditional textures like the brass elements in the mandir without overwhelming the room.
One of the most important aspects of this project was the collaborative spirit. The clients had a specific request for a rattan swing, which we incorporated to add a sense of playfulness and flow. It serves as a bridge between the formal living area and the more relaxed, private corners of the home.
Every detail, from the gallery wall in the foyer featuring decorative plates to the soft lighting, was chosen to evoke a sense of peace. For us, this project serves as a reminder that luxury is not about excess, but about how a space makes you feel at the end of a long day.
