About Let's Play Pretend
I love using real props, like fresh oranges or miniature baking tools, because they keep kids engaged and happy during the session. When your child is focused on 'pretending' to bake or playing with a water tub, they forget I am even there, and that is exactly when the best, most natural expressions happen. It takes the pressure off both the parent and the baby to perform for the lens.
These 'Let's Play Pretend' sessions are a departure from traditional, stiff photography. Over the last 7 years in Mumbai, I have realized that the best photos are not taken, they are made during play. Whether we are in my Goregaon West studio creating a dreamy cloud scene or outside in a local garden with a vintage picnic setup, the goal is always the same: comfort and joy.
I bring everything needed to the set. This means you do not have to stress about sourcing tiny outfits or specific props. I have a full collection of rompers, bonnets, hats, and themed accessories that fit the story we are telling.
Safety is the first thing on my mind. I am a certified newborn and child photographer, which means every prop I select, from the wooden crates in a garden shoot to the water tubs for a splash session, is baby-safe and cleaned thoroughly. Do you want to document a specific phase or an obsession your child has right now? Let's talk about the theme that fits their personality, whether it is a birthday cake smash or a sunny beach day.
