Positive Dog Training & Behavior Shaping
We don’t train robots; we build connections. Using positive reinforcement, we help your dog master life skills, from leash manners to calm social interactions.
Why are basic commands so important? They are life skills that help your dog stay focused, manage their energy, and navigate real-world situations safely, like waiting patiently or walking calmly on a leash.
Training is more than just tricks. It provides mental stimulation, builds your dog's confidence, strengthens your bond, and establishes discipline for their safety.
We demonstrate two scenarios for going on a walk. Starting the walk in a calm state of mind, as shown in scenario two, sets the tone for a much more controlled and enjoyable experience for both you and your dog.
Tricking their way into getting more treats. A little bit of fun training helps reinforce commands and keeps our in-house dogs mentally sharp and engaged.
About this collection
We do not believe in strict, military-style drills. Instead, we focus on real-world scenarios—like how your dog behaves at the door or when they see another dog on a walk. Our 4-week obedience course gets your dog thinking and reacting to you, not just mechanically following commands. It is about building a shared language so you can actually enjoy your daily routine.
Training at Therpup is grounded in positive reinforcement. We move away from outdated methods that rely on fear or force. Instead, we reward the behavior we want to see. This builds confidence, especially for rescue dogs who might be shy or reactive.
Our sessions happen on-site at our Bangalore locations, using real-world distractions—other dogs, humans, smells—to ensure what your dog learns in class actually sticks when you are out in the neighborhood.
What we cover
- Basic Obedience: Mastery of sit, stay, down, recall, and leave-it.
- Leash Manners: We fix dragging and pulling so your walks become a bonding experience, not a workout.
- Socialization: Safe, controlled interactions to help your pup make friends without the stress.
- Energy Management: Mental stimulation is as important as physical exercise. A bored dog is often a destructive dog, and our training channels that energy properly.
The 4-Week Program
We run a 12-session course (3 times a week for 4 weeks). Each 45-60 minute session is designed to keep your dog engaged. We use high-value rewards, keep groups small, and focus on progress, not perfection. Whether you are dealing with jumping on guests, doorway excitement, or just need a solid foundation, we are here to help your pup become the best version of themselves.
Therpup
We have built Therpup around the idea that every dog is family, whether they are a pedigree or a local indie. We do not believe in robots; we believe in helping your dog find their groove through patience and positive reinforcement. Come by our Whitefield or Sarjapur locations, and let us get your pup feeling confident and happy.
