About Festive & Celebration Spreads

I treat every festive spread as a story rather than just a product shoot. I use my collection of antique brass, rustic linens, and seasonal props to build a scene that feels lived-in and real. My focus is on the interplay of natural light and texture, ensuring that whether it is a bright Diwali mithai spread or a moody Christmas brunch, the image evokes a sense of home.

Festivals are when brands have the most potential to connect, but they often fall into the trap of generic imagery. My approach is to strip away the clutter and focus on the small, human details that make a celebration special.

For traditional Indian festivals like Diwali or Janmashtami, I lean into warm, earthy tones. I use props like terracotta bowls, marigold flowers, and brassware to ground the visuals in nostalgia. I often work with natural light to highlight the richness of textures, like the glistening syrup on a gulab jamun or the intricate garnish on a payasam.

When it comes to winter holidays and Christmas, I shift the mood to something cozier. I use deeper contrasts and bokeh lights to mimic that feeling of sitting by a warm fireplace with a hot chocolate. It is about capturing the invitation to indulge.

Before every shoot, we start with a mood board. This helps us align on the exact 'vibe' of the festival—whether we are aiming for high-energy family joy or quiet, elegant decadence. This preparation allows us to move efficiently on set, ensuring we get the perfect shot without losing that raw, emotional connection to the food.
