About Dollhouse Design Camp
We give every child a wooden structure as their blank canvas. They spend the week measuring for wallpaper, building teeny-tiny furniture from scratch, and learning how to create textures. It is messy work that teaches planning and fine motor skills—and yes, they get to take the entire mansion home.
What Happens at Camp
Think of this as an introduction to interior design, but with way more glue and glitter. We do not worry about straight lines or perfect finishes. Instead, we focus on helping kids make big decisions: What color should the bedroom be? Where does the sofa go? How do we make a rug out of scrap fabric?
Skills They Build
While they are having a blast, they are actually picking up some great skills:
- Spatial Planning: Understanding how items fit into a room.
- Fine Motor Control: Painting tiny details and gluing delicate pieces.
- Problem Solving: Figuring out how to build a chair that actually stands up.
The Logistics
We keep our Jayanagar studio well-stocked with everything from paint to scrap materials and wooden structures. You do not need to bring a thing except maybe a snack. Our batches are limited to 15 children so that everyone gets the help they need when a structural challenge pops up. Whether they want to build a modern mansion or a cozy cottage, we are here to help them make it real.
