About Earthy Annaprashan (First Rice Ceremony)
We steer clear of neon plastics or loud, synthetic themes for an Annaprashan. Instead, we work with a palette of jute textures, fresh marigolds, and traditional winnowing fans to keep the environment grounded. This helps ensure the baby feels calm and the photos turn out soft and natural rather than artificial or overwhelming.
Organizing a first feeding ceremony requires a delicate balance. It needs to look good for photos while remaining entirely comfortable for the child. We prioritize tactile, non-toxic materials. The 10ft backdrop we typically design uses woven cane mats and jute fabrics, which provide a neutral, elegant canvas.
Why Natural Materials Matter
Bright synthetics can reflect harsh light, affecting your family portraits. Our use of fresh flowers like marigolds and jasmine ensures the fragrance is subtle and pleasant. The winnowing fans (muram) aren't just props; they hold cultural significance in many households, bridging tradition with modern styling.
The Setup
We bring in a vintage rattan bench for the parents and baby, creating a cozy seating area. Whether you are hosting at home in Bangalore or a venue in Chennai, we handle all the logistics. We plan for small details like where the baby will sit versus where the parents stand, ensuring the flow of the ceremony is smooth. If you are worried about space constraints in an apartment, we customize the backdrop size to fit without crowding the room.
