Flora, Fauna & Found Objects

I find poetry in the tiny, overlooked details of our city. This is a collection of fragments that caught my eye—from wild hydrangeas to the street cats who truly own Mumbai.

A tale of two. A video inspired by spotting pairs in the everyday, from two coconuts on a bicycle to two brothers by the sea.

A collage of all things green, from a church dome and raw bananas to a glass of matcha.

A composition of green and brown, featuring sliced raw mango, jujubes, and coconuts on a bicycle.

Green energy rides. A collage of green things, from an auto-rickshaw to a vase of sunflowers and lilies.

A green-painted cafe front with hanging plants, next to a vendor selling green jujubes and sliced mango.

A collage titled 'All things green lately', featuring iced coffee and matcha, coconuts, and a bouquet of lilies.

Exquisite things. A shot of two coconuts resting on the back of a bicycle, next to a display of small brass antiques.

My digital version of pressed flowers. A macro shot of delicate white and blue lacecap hydrangea flowers.

A beautiful close-up of hydrangea flowers, with the text 'Pressed flowers in a diary'.

A collage of macro flower shots, including pink buds and a single pink impatiens flower with dewy leaves.

About Flora, Fauna & Found Objects

When I shoot these small moments, I am not just looking for a pretty subject. I look for the story behind it, like the specific texture of a leaf in a cafe or the way light hits a quiet street corner. If you want to capture the soul of your space or your own brand, we do not just take standard portraits. We build a visual narrative layer by layer, often blending digital collages with candid shots to create something that feels exactly like the moment itself.

My work here is about the 'maximalism core'—the idea that beauty is found in the layered, messy reality of everyday life. Whether I am shooting the flora in a quiet garden or the fauna roaming the busy streets of Bandra, I am chasing the same thing: sonder. That deep, sudden realization that every person, plant, or object has a story as complex as my own.

How I Build a Series

When you book a session for this kind of work, we are moving away from staged, clinical photography. My process is a mix of:

  • Hybrid Storytelling: I use a combination of digital photography, 35mm-style captures, and my signature graphic collages to give your images depth.
  • Contextual Framing: It is not just about the object. It is about the environment, the light, and the way the city interacts with the subject.
  • Visual Scrapbooking: My goal is to deliver a set of images that feel like pages out of a personal diary, blending texture, typography, and candid emotion.

This approach works perfectly for lifestyle branding, cafe interiors, or personal projects where you want to show personality rather than just polished products. If you are tired of stiff, minimal aesthetics and want something that feels alive, messy, and real, we will vibe well. I travel throughout the Mumbai Metropolitan area for these shoots and love scouting new, hidden pockets of the city to turn into art.

I am Ruchit, and I treat my camera like a pen for writing love letters to Mumbai. I do not believe in clean, sterile shots, so I prefer the chipped, honest edges of the city where real life happens. Whether it is a wandering street cat or a wild bunch of flowers, I frame it to feel exactly like the moment I lived it.
