Indian markets are a beautiful, layered mess, and I love finding the poetry in that chaos. From flower-filled stalls to the scent of old books, these spaces tell stories we often overlook. Let’s capture yours.

About The Market Core Series

I don’t just stand back and shoot. When we head into the markets together, I’ll guide you through the noise—showing you how to interact with the stall owners, how to find the light amidst the clutter, and when to just stand still and let the scene breathe. The best photos come from that movement, not from staying static.

Indian markets are a sensory explosion, and I love diving right into the middle of their beautiful chaos. This series is my love letter to these spaces. When we shoot here, we aren't just looking for a pretty backdrop. We are looking for the story of the vendor arranging their marigolds, the history held in a dusty antique, or the quiet moment of connection over a cutting chai.

My approach is what I call 'maximalism core.' I embrace the clutter because that is where the soul of the city lives. I don't use heavy studio lighting that strips away the vibe. Instead, I use high-end mobile gear to stay agile and unobtrusive, letting me get into the tight corners of a lane or capture a candid laugh without making it feel like a production.

Whether you want a series of portraits amidst the colourful gopurams of Matunga or a deep dive into the spice-scented lanes of a bazaar, we will focus on the details. I’ll help you navigate the environment, showing you how to lean into the 'roz ke rang' (daily colours) of Mumbai. We typically spend 2 to 3 hours walking and shooting, which gives us enough time to get comfortable and find those unscripted, honest frames that define the Indian market experience.

I’m Ruchit. I trade clean, sterile studios for the messy, vibrant energy of a bazaar. If you want to see the poetry in a crowded lane or the history held in a vendor’s hands, let’s walk through the city together.
