Architectural Photography in Mumbai
I look past the busy streets to find the stories buildings tell. From the grand heritage facades of South Bombay to the intricate Art Deco curves, I capture the city's soul in stone.
A classic South Bombay morning in Fort. The sunlight brings the heritage architecture to life, highlighting the curved stone facade and the open window.
An amalgamation of Victorian, Venetian, and Gothic styles, this building in Fort is a testament to Mumbai's rich architectural history.

About Architectural Diaries: The City in Stone
When I shoot heritage sites like Fort or Colaba, I don't just capture the whole building. I hunt for the specific play of light on Art Deco curves and neo-classical carvings that most people rush past. If we do a session together, be prepared to do plenty of walking, because the best frames are usually hidden in the quieter alleys where the light hits just right.
My work is not just about clicking pictures of monuments. It is about interpreting the urban fabric of Mumbai. Having studied architecture, I naturally look for structural rhythms, geometry, and the subtle decay that gives a building character. Whether it is the bold, sweeping lines of Art Deco apartments or the intricate stone carvings of Victorian-era structures in South Bombay, I focus on how these elements interact with the current moment.
My process involves a lot of scouting. I spend hours walking through neighbourhoods like Fort and Bandra, watching how the sun moves across a façade. Photography is essentially painting with light, and I prefer the soft, golden tones that make stone surfaces look like they are breathing. For my architectural shoots, I offer a blend of wide storytelling frames that show context and tight, macro-style details that highlight textures and craftsmanship. I often layer these images into digital collages to create a visual scrapbook, which helps in telling a more complete story than a single photograph ever could. If you have a specific building, a street corner, or a historical district in mind that you want to document, let's explore it.

I studied to be an architect, but Mumbai's chaotic streets taught me how to actually see. I treat every building like a character in a story, looking for the rhythm in old facades and the poetry in faded stone.
