About Interactive Puppet Shows & Storytelling
Every session here is a dual-act. We don't just put on a show and wave goodbye. Immediately after the puppet performance or narration, kids dive into a structured 'make & take' art project inspired by what they just watched. Whether it is painting a wooden cutout or building a character, they walk out with something they actually built themselves.
Beyond Passive Viewing
We built The Artsy Nook because we believe kids shouldn't just sit and watch. Our shows, ranging from interactive shadow puppetry for the Ramayana to character-led sessions like The Gruffalo, are designed to get children moving, singing, and participating. It gets noisy, and yes, it gets a bit messy, but that is exactly how we like it!
The 'Make & Take' Difference
The magic happens right after the curtain falls. We believe the best way to process a story is to recreate it. Every performance includes a dedicated art workshop where children use materials like acrylics, paper, or clay to craft their own version of the characters or scenes they just experienced.
Practical Details
- Age Group: Most sessions are perfectly paced for children aged 2 to 9.
- Duration: Events run for 90 minutes. This is our sweet spot—long enough to dive deep into a story, but short enough to keep little ones engaged without getting antsy.
- Studio Environment: We host these in our air-conditioned studio in JP Nagar. We keep seating informal—floor seating on soft foam mats for the kids—so everyone feels relaxed and ready to dive in.
- Parent Inclusion: Each ticket includes entry for one accompanying adult. We love it when parents jump into the craft session too!
Whether it is Japanese paper theater or a magic-filled music workshop, we are always rotating themes. It’s a great way to introduce traditional storytelling to the next generation while keeping their hands busy with tactile, creative fun.
