About Rooftop Rooms & Porta Cabins
I build these cabins using high-density PUF (Polyurethane Foam) panels, which act as the core insulation. This is not just a room structure; it is a climate-controlled unit that stays significantly cooler in the Delhi heat and retains warmth in winter. Most clients underestimate the importance of the base frame, so I use heavy-duty mild steel hollow tubes anchored directly to your terrace slab to ensure the cabin stays secure even during heavy winds.
When you decide to add a room on your terrace, stability and insulation are the only things that matter. I handle the entire process from structural planning to the final finishing touches.
The Construction Process
I start with a 3D design so you can see exactly how the cabin fits your space before we buy any material. The structure is built on an MS (Mild Steel) hollow tube framework, which provides the necessary strength to support glass walls and heavy equipment. We then use Shera board cladding on the exterior, which is weather-proof, and fill the cavities with thermal insulation.
Interiors and Finish
For the inside, you get options. I install PVC fluted panels or wallpaper for the walls and use recessed LED lighting to keep the space looking clean. Flooring is usually 2x2 vitrified tiles or wood-texture vinyl, which handles the foot traffic of a busy home office or lounge. If you want a view, I fix toughened glass walls and doors with patch fittings.
Practical Reality
These rooms are not temporary shacks. They are permanent investments. If you have an existing terrace in Delhi or Gurgaon, I will visit the site to check the slab strength and drainage before we start welding. My team handles the complete electrical wiring, including AC points and concealed switchboards, so you have a finished room ready to move in. Pricing for these structures starts from ₹1700 per sq ft depending on the materials and glasswork selected.
