My Boxing Journey and Coaching Philosophy
Boxing is more than just a sport. It is a way of life that teaches discipline, resilience, and self-belief. Here is a look at the mindset I bring to every training session.
This is not the end. I will rise again. Everyone faces setbacks, but what matters is that you keep working and never give up on your comeback.
Someone asked me the difference between amateur and professional boxing training. Amateurs focus on speed and points, while professionals train for power, endurance, and surviving long, tough rounds.
Fight the shadows today, conquer the ring tomorrow. Shadowboxing is where you perfect your technique and visualize your success. These are memories from countless hours of practice, day and night.
Chase your dreams fearlessly. This is a reminder to put in the work every single day, even when no one is watching. Your dedication will pay off.
Rule number 33: Fear no man on this earth. Be the mighty lion amongst wild beasts. This is the mindset I carry with me, and the one I instill in all my fighters.
Don't quit. Nothing lasts forever, not even the pain. This is a reminder to push through the tough moments, because that's where true strength is built.
What does boxing mean to you? For me, it is my whole life. It's more than just a sport; it's my passion and my purpose.
This is a friendly reminder to all the coaches out there. Warm up with your clients. It reduces the risk of injury and helps build a strong rapport and trust with the people you train.
Dedication. Hard work. I've got nothing to worry about because I have God on my side. I put my faith in the process and the work I do every day.
My passion and love for this sport is never-ending. Here I am in my element, in the ring, where I feel most at home.
About My Journey & Motivation
When I train students, I emphasize that boxing is eighty percent mental. I use my own past as a national champion and my subsequent recovery from injury to show that true strength is about continuing when things get tough. We do not just drill technique in my sessions. We build the discipline required to show up even on the days when your body wants to stay on the couch.
My path to becoming a coach was not a straight line. I spent years as a national boxing champion, living in the ring and chasing wins. When an injury sidelined me, the doctors told me I might not walk again. That moment was my biggest test. I realized then that a fighter's greatest opponent is rarely the person across the ring. It is the voice inside telling you to stop.
Today, as the Head Coach at the Indian Boxing Council in Mumbai, I channel that experience into every session. I work with everyone from complete beginners to serious amateurs and pros.
My philosophy is simple. There are no shortcuts to becoming a champ. We start with the basics—footwork, stance, and balance. I do not let a student move on to complex combinations until their foundation is solid. Whether we are doing pad work, heavy bag drills, or reflex training, the goal is always the same: to make you move with purpose and fight with intelligence. I teach my students to see boxing as a chess match where every move has a consequence. If you are ready to put in the work and stop making excuses, let us get to training.
