I sketch these designs to help you visualize exactly how your mehndi will look. From traditional couple portraits to modern floral motifs, these are the concepts we can customize for your hands.

This video shows the process of drawing a traditional Karwa Chauth figure. It starts with a simple outline and builds up to a detailed, shaded drawing ready for application.

A collection of my Karwa Chauth and couple-themed design sketches. These can be incorporated into your bridal or festive mehndi to tell your personal story.

More examples of my couple and Karwa Chauth portrait designs. I can create various poses and scenes to make your mehndi unique and meaningful.

This video shows a Dubai-style floral design from the sketch in my design book to the final application on the hand. It's a great way to see how a concept comes to life.

A before-and-after of a Karwa Chauth design sketch. You can see how the simple outline is transformed into a detailed and shaded figure, ready to be applied.

A special Diwali-themed design sketch. It shows a woman lighting diyas, capturing the beautiful essence of the festival of lights in a henna design.

A sketch of a Garba dancer for Navratri. The intricate details in the lehenga, with traditional motifs like swastikas, make this a perfect design for the festival.

A video showing the creation of a Lord Krishna (Kanha) design. This is a beautiful way to incorporate spiritual elements into your mehndi for a special occasion.

A video showing how I draw a floral bunch design. This is a popular element in many modern and Arabic style patterns.

Some of my Dubai-style floral sketches. I love practicing these bold and beautiful flowers that are perfect for creating modern henna designs.

About My Design Sketchbook

Before I open my henna cone, I always like to draw the concept on paper. This helps us decide on details like the specific pose for a couple portrait or the flow of an Arabic floral vine, so there are no surprises on your big day.

When you hire me, we start here in my sketchbook. I believe that your mehndi should tell your story, whether it is a Karwa Chauth scene with traditional diyas or a modern Dubai floral arrangement. Sketching allows us to experiment with different placements and densities without wasting your time during the actual application.

If you have a specific idea in mind, bring it to me. I can take a rough concept and refine it into a detailed motif. This works exceptionally well for:

  • Custom Portraits: We can sketch out your couple figures to match your specific wedding attire or poses.
  • Thematic Designs: Planning a festival event? I can draw custom elements for Diwali, Eid, or Navratri to ensure your design matches the mood.
  • Density Adjustments: If you want a specific floral bunch to be thicker or need the vine to flow in a certain direction, we can adjust the sketch before I start applying the henna.

Using my sketchbook also helps us manage expectations regarding time. Complex bridal motifs or detailed portraits require more application time, and seeing the sketch helps you understand the intricacy involved. My goal is to ensure you feel confident and excited about the design before the first line is drawn.

I have been living and breathing mehndi since 2004. I love drawing out your stories before I ever touch a cone, making sure every line feels just right for you.
