About Building Your Foundation: From Basics to Beauty
We start with paper practice to get comfortable with the cone before moving to skin. You will learn to control pressure, create consistent line thickness, and master the fundamental motifs like vines and mandala patterns.
Mehndi is more than just patterns; it is a part of my life. My beginner classes are designed to be a safe space where you can learn without fear, whether your hands are shaking or you are totally new to the art.
We begin with the absolute basics. You will learn cone holding techniques, simple shapes, and the fundamentals of floral design. I believe mehndi requires patience (sabar), so we focus on a slow, steady progression. You will start by drawing on paper to build muscle memory before moving on to skin.
My classes are conducted in small groups of 8 to 12 students in a traditional floor-seating environment. This setting allows me to give you hands-on attention. We cover Arabic floral patterns, basic mandalas, and consistent line work. Every student receives a kit including an A4 sketchbook, practice cones, and templates to help you continue practicing at home.
Whether you are in Pune or visiting my studio in Goregaon, Mumbai, I am here to guide you through your first steps as an artist. My goal is to see you go from confused to confident.
