Turn Your Old Sarees into Adorable Kids' Outfits
Those heirloom sarees gathering dust? Let’s turn them into something your little one can actually wear. I create custom, kid-friendly outfits—from Pattu Pavadai to party frocks—that keep the sentiment alive without sacrificing comfort.
There is nothing more special than creating a tiny outfit from a mother's saree. I designed this adorable silk frock for a little princess, complete with puffed sleeves and using the rich brocade for the skirt.
Look at that happy smile! This custom-made frock, upcycled from a traditional silk saree, features a detailed neckline and a pleated skirt, making it perfect for a special occasion.
Fit for a little queen! This shot shows the beautiful volume of the puffed sleeves and the rich texture of the upcycled silk fabric, creating a truly royal look for the little one.
About this collection
The biggest thing I focus on for kids is comfort. I use soft, double-washed cotton lining to ensure no zari or silk ever irritates your child's skin. Plus, I always add 2-3 inches of extra margin inside the seams so the outfit grows with them for a bit longer.
There is nothing quite like the feeling of seeing your little one in a dress made from your own wedding saree or your grandmother's heirloom piece. It is a way of telling a story without saying a word. In my studio, I do not just make these clothes, I handle your fabrics with the same care you do, understanding that these are not just textiles, they are memories.
When you bring a saree to me for a child’s outfit, the transformation process is meticulous. Whether it is a traditional Pattu Pavadai for a naming ceremony or a puffy, fun frock for a birthday party, my priority is always the child’s comfort first. Every garment is stitched with concealed seams to ensure a smooth finish against delicate skin.
If you have a saree from a special event or a beloved heirloom, bring it to my Jayanagar studio. We can sit down, pick a design, and make sure your child feels like royalty without the fuss of standard, stiff occasion wear.
Why choose upcycled kids' wear?
- Sentiment: Keep memories alive by transforming pieces you already cherish.
- Softness: My process uses specialized cotton linings to ensure that even heavy silk feels soft and breathable for children.
- Fit: Each outfit is custom-measured, ensuring a better fit than off-the-rack alternatives.
- Growth: I build in margin for growth, making these special outfits last a little longer for your growing child.
