I believe that if you can speak, you can sing. You don't need a perfect voice to start, you only need the courage to express yourself.

This is the first thing I tell everyone. If you can speak, you can sing. You don't need a "good" voice to start, you just need the desire. My classes provide the training and support to help you find your voice.

People often ask me about my journey. In this video, I share my personal story of overcoming my own vocal limitations and how it led me to create Swarmaanas. My mission is to help others avoid the criticism that stops so many from singing.

Expressive singing is the heart of my teaching. It's more important than perfect sur and taal. I explain how connecting with the emotion of a song is what truly connects with an audience and how it becomes a form of music therapy for the singer.

So many of us try to copy the original singer, like Lata-ji or Asha-ji, and end up using a "khota awaaz" (false voice). I demonstrate the difference and explain why it's so important to sing in your own natural, comfortable voice.

This is a follow up on finding your true voice. I show how to listen to the legends for inspiration but then apply the learning to your own unique vocal capacity. This is how you build real confidence.

The most important tool for a singer is the breath. In this episode of my series, I introduce the concept of 'conscious breathing' and why it is the foundation for relaxed and powerful singing in light music.

Here, I explain how to practice conscious breathing. I demonstrate taking a breath with your mouth between lines of a song, a simple technique that helps you sing with ease and control, just like when you catch your breath after climbing stairs.

Practice makes perfect, even with breathing. I explain that with consistent practice, conscious breathing becomes an automatic habit, just like waking up for exercise. This conditions your body to support your voice naturally.

We are always comparing ourselves to others, which only brings sadness. I talk about why you should stop comparing your voice and instead focus on improving what you have. A little practice with 'Omkar' can make a big difference.

Sukh (happiness) is found in singing. Here, I demonstrate a simple Omkar practice. Doing this regularly helps improve your vocal tone and brings a sense of peace. It’s a small step that leads to big results.

About My Promise: Gaana Aaye Ya Na Aaye, Gaana Chaahiye!

You don't need to sound like a playback singer to enjoy music. Many of my students come to me thinking they are tone-deaf because they have spent years trying to mimic professionals. My method is different. I teach you to find your natural range—your comfortable pitch—which immediately removes the strain from your throat and helps you sing with ease, not performance anxiety.

My goal is to help the '35% wale'—the people who have been told they can't sing, or who have silenced themselves because they fear judgment. Singing is not about hitting every note with machine-like precision. It is about emotional connection.

Why Expression Matters More Than Perfection

When you sing for friends or family, nobody is judging your classical training. They are looking for your smile and your bhaav (emotion). If you focus only on sur and taal, you lose the joy of the song. I encourage my students to prioritize their expression. A song sung with a smile and true feeling will always be more popular than a technically perfect, robotic performance.

My Approach to Your Voice

  • Conscious Breathing: We move away from superficial throat singing. Proper breathing techniques allow you to sing longer lines without getting tired or breathless.
  • Natural Range: We stop forcing your voice to match high-pitched playback singers. We find where your voice sits comfortably so you don't strain your vocal cords.
  • Music as Therapy: We don't do exams or intense pressure. My sessions are designed for stress relief, whether it is light music, bhajans, or Bollywood karaoke.

I have seen students go from being terrified of opening their mouths to performing confidently in our local Dadar sessions. You do not need to be Lata Mangeshkar to find joy in music. You just need to be yourself.
