About Milestone Celebrations: Sitters & First Birthdays
Since milestone sessions often involve babies who are just learning to sit or crawl, I keep the pace completely flexible. If your little one gets restless, we stop for snacks or a quick cuddle, because a happy, comfortable baby always makes for better photos than one that is forced to pose.
Capturing the Milestones
Watching your baby transform from a newborn into an active, curious crawler and then a toddler is a blur. I started Sugarplum Photography to freeze these fleeting, precious stages. My milestone sessions are designed to be low-pressure and high-fun, focusing on who your baby is right now, not just how they look.
The Sitter & Crawler Sessions
Around 6 to 9 months, babies start sitting up on their own, often with that adorable, wobbly charm. This is the perfect time for a sitter session. We use textures like jute rugs, soft macrame, and earthy props to highlight their giggles and newfound independence. These shoots are quick and focused, designed to capture that specific age where they are finally engaging with the world around them.
First Birthday & Cake Smash
Turning one is a huge deal. Whether you want a simple, classic portrait with a wooden 'One' sign or a full-blown messy cake smash, I have the setups ready. For these sessions, we allocate extra time to ensure your baby has enough space to enjoy the cake and the cameras without feeling overwhelmed. I provide all the props, balloons, and backdrop elements so you can just show up and enjoy the chaos.
