About Behind the Curtain: The Creative Process
Unlike typical theatre classes where scripts are handed down, our workshops are co-created. Students bring their own stories and real-world issues, and we turn them into plays together. This isn't just acting practice—it’s a space where kids learn to express their own voices, build confidence through improvisation games, and understand character development while having a great time.
At MADS, we believe that 'learning through experience' is the only way to build real skill. Whether it is an orchestra finding their rhythm or Kathak students perfecting tatkar (footwork), our process is entirely hands-on. We don't just teach theory; we focus on the struggle and the breakthrough that happens in the studio.
Why Our Process Works
- Collaborative Scripting: Our theatre plays are based on what our students care about. When a child writes dialogue about their own life, the acting becomes natural and the confidence is genuine.
- Small Group Correction: In our music and dance sessions, we limit batch sizes. This allows our instructors to provide personalized, step-by-step corrections—whether it's adjusting a violin bow or fixing a posture in dance.
- The 'Family' Environment: We are located in Malviya Nagar and function like a family. Stress and pressure don't live here. Instead, we encourage students to support each other's growth, which is why our rehearsals feel more like a community celebration than a rigid class.
Our Disciplines
- Kathak & Classical Dance: We focus on the Jaipur and Lucknow Gharana basics, including rhythmic footwork and graceful expression.
- Music Orchestra: Students on guitar, piano, and violin learn to listen and synchronize, turning individual practice into a harmonious ensemble.
- Theatre & Production: From voice modulation to stage lighting, kids learn what it actually takes to bring a story to life.
