About Vibrant Celebrations: Haldi & Mehendi
These ceremonies are often chaotic, but I do not believe in interrupting the flow to get a perfect shot. I keep my distance to capture the actual laughter of your friends pouring water, the real look of joy when the turmeric paste is applied, and the genuine emotion in the room. You will not find me shouting directions at your family because the best stories happen when you forget I am even there.
Haldi and Mehendi functions offer some of the most dynamic light and movement in an entire wedding sequence. When the music swells and the flower petals start flying, it is easy for a photographer to lose focus, but I look for the stillness within that motion. I treat these pre-wedding events with the same cinematic eye as the main ceremony, ensuring that the vibrancy of the decor does not overshadow the people.
I do not stage your Haldi. If I ask you to pose, it feels like a photoshoot, not a wedding. Instead, I observe. I look for the way your mother laughs when she is applying the paste, the exact moment your friends douse you in water, and the quiet relief you feel sitting with your partner. Because these events are intimate, I use a discreet approach, often shooting with prime lenses to get up close without invading your personal space.
