About this collection
For Haldi and Mehendi, I focus on the stuff that happens in between the official shots. I stay close enough to get those messy, laughter-filled frames, but I stay back enough that you do not feel like you are being watched by a camera. It is all about the candid energy, the flower petals flying, and that specific vibe when everyone is finally at ease.
The Haldi and Mehendi are my favorite parts of the wedding schedule because they are the most real. Unlike the main wedding ceremony where there is a lot of structure, these functions are messy, loud, and unpredictable. My job here is to blend into the chaos.
Whether it is the turmeric paste getting smeared or a candid laugh during Mehendi application, I use a fast-moving, lightweight camera setup. This allows me to move quickly between family members without stopping the party. You will notice in my work that I prefer earthy, natural tones rather than over-processed, neon brights. I want the colors of the decor and the outfits to pop, but I also want the skin tones to look like you.
I often hear clients worry that they are not photogenic or they get awkward when a camera is pointed at them. For these events, I do not ask for poses. If I see a great moment happening, I capture it as it is. If you want a few portraits, we will take them in five minutes during the golden hour, and then you are free to go back to the dancing and the dhol.
My crew is trained to look for the reactions. When a relative teases the bride or when the groom gets covered in petals, that is the gold. We shoot these moments from multiple angles—one of us on the candid shots, one capturing the reaction shots of your friends, and if we are doing video, we grab that quick, shaky-cam cinematic footage that makes your highlight film feel alive.
Mani Sharma
I am Mani. I have shot enough Haldi and Mehendi functions to know that the best shots never happen when you are looking at the lens. My crew and I blend into the chaos so you can actually enjoy your own party, whether it is here in Delhi or at a destination spot.
