About Intimate Palm Torch Dance
Holding fire with your bare hands is an illusion. I use specifically designed palm torches that let me perform intricate mudras and emotive storytelling without any risk of burning. It looks raw and wild, but it is a controlled, safe dance that lets the fire become a graceful extension of my own body.
While most fire shows are designed to be seen from a distance, palm torch dance is different. It is personal, close-up, and deeply expressive. I spent eight years training in Bharatnatyam, and I bring that discipline into this flow, using every flick of the wrist to create trails of light that sync with the music.
It is perfect for settings where you want a performance that feels less like a spectacle and more like an experience. Whether it is a sangeet, a quiet wedding gathering, or a private event, these sets are designed to fit into smaller, intimate spaces where guests can actually see the connection between the dancer and the flame. I often perform to Carnatic music or soft acoustic tracks, letting the fire move with the tempo rather than just spinning wildly.
If you are worried about the safety aspect, do not be. My props are engineered with an insulating layer, which means I can focus entirely on the dance and the expression. There is no guesswork here, just pure, practiced movement. You get the aesthetic of danger without the actual risk.
