A solid ceiling design isn't just about looks, it’s about hiding the wiring and getting the light levels right. I handle the entire process, from cutting the profile lights to the final paint finish, so you don’t have to coordinate between different contractors. I have been doing this for over 20 years, and I make sure your light strips are straight, your connections are secure, and your ceiling stays crack-free.
When I am planning a ceiling, I look at the room’s height and the furniture layout first. A heavy, intricate design in a low-ceiling room makes it feel cramped, so we stick to sleek cove designs or modern perimeter lighting. For larger spaces, we can do more with geometric shapes or layered gypsum structures.
The Lighting Setup
- Cove Lighting: I use warm or cool white LED strips to create that soft, indirect glow that sets the mood for the evening.
- Profile & COB Lights: These are for focal points, like highlighting a wall panel or providing direct reading light by the bed.
- Fibre-Optic Effects: This is very popular for bedrooms. It creates a realistic starry sky effect that stays cool to the touch and uses minimal energy.
The Process
I handle the electrical conduit work during the civil phase to ensure everything is concealed and safe. We use high-grade Gypsum boards that hold their shape and resist cracks, which is essential for our humid Navi Mumbai climate. I include POP and Gypsum work in my 2BHK renovation packages, so you get the lighting and ceiling finished alongside the rest of your home makeover in one go.
