The Early Stages of My Musical Journey
Music has been my constant companion since I was eight. Here is a look back at the childhood moments, competition wins, and early performances that shaped the artist I am today.
This is me at nine years old, performing on the Super Singer Junior stage. That year-long journey taught me so much about different genres, performing under pressure, and connecting with an audience through television.
A clip from a Super Singer performance that earned a standing ovation from the judges and the audience. Moments like these, with the crowd cheering and the judges' encouragement, gave me the confidence to pursue music seriously.
The winning moment of Super Singer Junior 4. This picture captures the culmination of a year of hard work and the incredible support from my family, the audience, and the entire team at Vijay Television.
The legendary S. P. Balasubrahmanyam sir's reaction to one of my performances on Super Singer. His words of praise are a blessing that I will carry with me always, reminding me of the power of music to move even the masters.
A look back at the Super Singer World Tour in 2015, where I had the opportunity to perform at the SSE Arena in Wembley, London. Sharing the stage with legends like SPB sir at such a young age was an unforgettable experience.
This is a clip of me at eight years old, singing a Kannada Bhavageethe at a local competition. Even back then, my biggest dream was to sing on stage, and I'm so grateful for every small step that has been a part of this journey.
About The Journey Begins: Super Singer & Early Days
Winning Super Singer Junior at nine was a whirlwind that taught me more about resilience than music theory. While the stage lights and cameras were exciting, those long recording hours and the pressure of competing week after week are what really built my discipline. It taught me how to adapt to different genres instantly and, more importantly, how to connect with an audience long before I understood the technical side of the industry.
Looking back at these photos is always a reality check. It is wild to think about that nine-year-old on stage, worrying about whether I would get a chocolate shower for a good performance, to where I am now. Those early years were essentially my crash course in professional music. I was not just singing; I was learning to handle nerves, take feedback from legends like SPB sir, and manage the intense schedule of a world tour.
Building the Foundation
Every local competition in Udupi and every school function was a stepping stone. Whether I was singing a Kannada Bhavageethe or performing a complex Carnatic piece, the goal remained the same—to find the emotion in the song. That childhood stage time is exactly where I learned to switch between languages and styles, a skill that now helps me when I record for films or live audiences.
Why This Matters for You
When you hire a musician, you are looking for someone who can hold a room and deliver under pressure. My background in high-stakes reality TV and international concert touring means I do not get rattled by last-minute changes or complex live setups. I have been conditioned to stay present, keep the energy high, and respect the requirements of the studio or the stage, no matter the size of the crowd.
