Academic writing is a maze, but you do not have to navigate it alone. These hands-on workshops are designed to simplify the process, helping you structure your research, select the right journal, and get your work published with confidence.

This poster is for my 10-day intensive workshop on Manuscript Writing and Publishing, designed for PhD scholars and early-career researchers. These sessions are held online in the evenings to fit around your busy research schedule.

A strong cover letter is your first chance to make a good impression on a journal editor. Here I am during a workshop, explaining the five common mistakes to avoid, such as failing to address the journal's scope and ignoring submission guidelines.

Punctuation might seem small, but errors can undermine your credibility. In this session at Vellore Institute of Technology, I covered five common punctuation mistakes in scientific writing, including the misuse of semicolons and the importance of the Oxford comma.

This image captures the excitement as we kicked off a 5-day online workshop with 15 participants from diverse fields. The program included 10 hours of sessions, a manuscript review, and a one-on-one consultation for each participant to get their article submission-ready.

Before a big workshop, I like to send a welcome note to help participants prepare. In this video, I explain the three components of the upcoming workshop: lectures, a professional manuscript review, and a one-on-one discussion to ensure everyone gets personalized guidance.

Writing a research article is a multi-step process, as shown in this infographic I use in my workshops. I break down each stage, from compiling results and journal selection to handling reviewer comments, to make the entire journey feel less overwhelming.

During a Q&A session, we discussed some core principles of scientific writing. Key takeaways included ensuring the abstract is a mini-version of the manuscript and understanding that a review article is a critical synthesis, not just a chronological list.

This video provides a quick overview of the services I offer at Sowmis_AWW. From customized Faculty Development Programs and online workshops to detailed manuscript editing services, my mission is to simplify the research writing and publishing process for everyone.

About From Draft to Publication: Manuscript Workshops

My workshops are not about listening to me talk for hours. We focus on hands-on application where you work on your own manuscript, proposal, or abstract during the session. We use live demos for tools like Zotero or Mendeley and tackle your real-world research bottlenecks in real-time. You walk away with actual progress on your paper, not just a certificate.
