The Story Behind the Lens
I often say that I am a storyteller first and a photographer second. This page is a glimpse into my own journey as a mother and why I believe it is so important for every mom to exist in the family album, not just be the one taking the photos.
This year, I gifted myself a photoshoot. As a mom, I'm always the one taking the pictures, and I realized I missed being in them. This was an act of reclaiming a part of myself.
A quiet moment of reflection for myself. It's important to pause and find moments of peace, and I wanted to capture that feeling in a self-portrait.
A simple, honest self-portrait. My work is about capturing authenticity, and I believe in showing up authentically myself, both behind and in front of the camera.
About My Story: The Mom Behind the Camera
When I photograph families in Hyderabad, I prioritize the same approach I use for my own self-portraits: total honesty. I do not use studio props or forced posing because I know that the most beautiful, tangible memories are the ones where you are laughing at a joke, soothing a crying child, or just sitting still. If you are worried about your toddler not sitting still or your living room not being 'perfect,' that is exactly the kind of chaos I love to capture.
As a mom to two boys, I have learned that the best stories are found in the messy, unscripted parts of our days. For years, I was the one behind the camera—always documenting my parents or my children, but rarely finding myself in the frame. It took a shift in perspective for me to realize that my children need to see me in their history, just as much as I need to see them in mine.
This is why I do not offer stiff, studio-based sessions. Whether we are meeting at a park for a golden hour shoot or hanging out at your home for a newborn session, my goal is to document your life exactly as it feels right now. I provide guidance on styling and comfort, but the movement is entirely up to you and your family.
My work is firmly rooted in Hyderabad, and I specialize in natural, documentary-style photography. I want to help you capture the milestones, but more importantly, I want to help you capture the in-between moments—the ones you might otherwise forget when you are busy managing the day-to-day. You deserve to be in the photos, and I would be honored to help you make that happen.
