Great hair isn't just about your salon visit. It's about what you use at home every day. Here are the professional-grade products I trust to keep hair healthy.

Is product buildup ruining your good hair days? It often shows up as dullness, greasiness, or lifeless strands. A good clarifying shampoo is the solution to reset your hair and scalp.

Olaplex No. 4C is my top recommendation for a clarifying shampoo because it deeply cleanses without stripping moisture. It's sulfate-free and pH-balanced, making it effective yet gentle enough for all hair types, including color-treated hair.

For oily scalps, Kevin Murphy's MAXI.WASH is an excellent detox shampoo. It effectively lifts away oil and buildup, leaving the scalp feeling fresh and hair feeling clean and weightless. It's the perfect prep for any styling.

For color-treated hair that needs repair, I don't recommend homemade masks as they lack the potency needed. My favorites are Olaplex No. 8 for intense moisture and K18 for its biotech-powered ability to reverse damage in minutes.

After coloring your hair, it is crucial to switch to a color-protecting shampoo and conditioner. For this client's slightly dry, newly colored hair, I recommended the Olaplex No. 4 and No. 5 to maintain color vibrancy and hair health.

I am so excited about the new curl-enhancing treatment from Olaplex. Unlike many frizz-control treatments that straighten out curls, this one is specifically designed for curly girls to define curls while fighting frizz.

Dry shampoo is a great tool, but it's not a magic potion. It works best on one or two-day-old hair to absorb excess oil. I'm currently obsessed with the new Olaplex dry shampoo because it leaves absolutely no white cast.

A common question I get is about how to use dry shampoo. It's meant to refresh hair between washes, especially after a workout or to extend a blowout. It absorbs sebum and sweat, but it cannot replace a proper hair wash.

If your hair gets knotty after washing, a leave-in detangler is a must. I always recommend Untangled by Kevin Murphy. It instantly detangles, adds softness and shine, and provides heat protection, all in one spray.

Many people believe washing hair daily causes hair fall, but a dirty scalp can also be a problem. For those who need to cleanse frequently, I recommend Restore by Kevin Murphy. It's a cleansing conditioner that refreshes the scalp without stripping it like a traditional shampoo.

About Our Recommended Products & Tools

The biggest mistake I see is applying conditioner to the roots. It dilutes the formula and weighs your hair down. Always towel-dry your hair first, then apply conditioner from mid-lengths down. This ensures your strands actually absorb the nutrients instead of just washing them away.
