Featured Handmade Portraits and Pencil Sketches
A look at some of my favorite handmade pencil sketches where I've turned special moments into permanent, detailed artwork.
This is why I do what I do. Every portrait, like this one of a beautiful young girl, is a journey of patience and love. I use fine graphite and blending tools to capture the softness of her expression and the intricate details of her traditional jewelry, turning a cherished photo into a timeless piece of art.
A family portrait is a treasure. For this A2 size sketch, I worked to bring three distinct personalities together into one cohesive artwork. Capturing the warmth of a family, from the detail in their clothing to their happy expressions, is a responsibility I take very seriously.
Your wedding day is a story of love, and I help you tell it forever. In this detailed wedding portrait, I focused on the couple's loving gaze and the complex patterns of their wedding attire. Each pencil stroke is meant to preserve the emotion of that special moment.
Creating devotional art like this colorful portrait of Laddoo Gopal is a form of meditation for me. This A3 size piece took two and a half months, using a mix of Brustro pencil colors, brush pens, and fine markers to bring out the divine vibrancy and intricate details.
There is no greater gift than one that honors your parents. I created this handmade sketch to bring a smile to their faces, focusing on realistic details that capture their unique bond and character. It's a way to say thank you and preserve their legacy.
The magic is in the details. This close-up shows the process of drawing the delicate embroidery on a saree. Using a combination of sharp pencils and soft blending stumps, I spend hours ensuring every pattern and texture is rendered with photorealistic precision.
Before any artwork leaves my studio, I perform final checks to ensure it's perfect. Here, I'm putting the finishing touches on a custom portrait, making sure every shade and line contributes to the story. It's the last step before I carefully pack and dispatch it to its new home.
About this collection
Everything you see here is drawn by hand, with no digital tricks involved. I use professional-grade graphite and charcoal on high-quality 200 GSM paper to ensure the sketch lasts for years. Whether I am detailing the embroidery on a saree or the texture of a pet's fur, I treat every single stroke as if I am drawing it for my own family.
This collection features the work I am most proud of. For me, a portrait is not just about resemblance, it is about keeping a memory alive. When you order a piece, you are not just getting a drawing, you are getting hours of focused, patient work.
My Process
I work primarily with graphite and charcoal for my black and white portraits. These mediums allow for deep blacks and soft skin tones that look incredibly realistic once fixed with a professional spray. For my devotional art or full-color requests, I switch to oil-based pencils and brush pens. This process is slower, often taking up to 15 days, because I layer the colors to ensure there is no white paper showing through.
What Goes Into Your Sketch
- Precision: I pay attention to the small things that matter most, like jewelry, wedding attire, or expressions.
- Materials: I use only archival-quality paper and artist-grade pencils so the art doesn't fade.
- Preparation: If you have an old, blurry photo, I do my best to restore the details before I even pick up a pencil.
If you see a style you like, send me the photo you have in mind. We can chat about the size and whether you want a classic graphite look or a vibrant color piece. I ship my work carefully in hard cardboard or PVC tubes across India, so your portrait arrives flat and ready for a frame.
