Handmade Devotional Art and Deity Portraits
Spiritual sketches drawn with devotion and patience. From Hanuman ji to Lord Shiva, I create divine portraits that bring peace to your home.
Jai Shri Ram! This large, colorful painting of Hanuman ji was a labor of love. I used bright acrylics and fine markers to depict his divine form, holding the "Jai Shri Ram" flag, as a tribute for Hanuman Janmotsav. Prints of this piece are available.
This video shows two of my devotional pieces. One is a colorful, in-progress painting of Lord Hanuman, and the other is a watercolor painting of Lord Shiva against the moon, showing my ability to work in different styles and mediums for spiritual art.
This is my first attempt at creating a portrait of Lord Shiva using only pen. The technique requires precision and patience, building up tone and texture with individual lines to create a powerful depiction of Mahadev.
Here I am with my completed painting of Lord Hanuman. Standing next to the finished, framed artwork gives a sense of its scale and presence. It brings me great peace to create and share these devotional pieces.
This video shows the finishing stages of my large-scale Hanuman ji painting. You can see me adding the final details and colors that bring the entire piece together, ready to be framed and displayed.
The process of a color portrait starts with layering. Here, I am carefully applying the base colors and initial shading to the portrait of Lord Hanuman, slowly building up the tones and details with colored pencils.
Here is a look at my workspace and the tools I use for a color project. This piece, a drawing of Hanuman ji, involves a wide range of colored pencils and a reference photo on my phone to ensure accuracy and detail.
This is the process behind my pen art of Lord Shiva. Using fine-tipped pens, I carefully build the shading and form, a technique that is very different from pencil work but yields a unique and striking result.
A close-up view of my pen art process for the Trishul of Lord Shiva. Every line is deliberate, creating the texture of the Rudraksha beads and the divine energy of the weapon.
This is my workspace, my "Karmakshetra". It's where I am surrounded by inspiration, including my finished devotional paintings of Lord Krishna and Hanuman ji, which watch over me as I create new pieces.
About Devotional Art
When I sketch deities like Hanuman ji or Lord Shiva, I do not just draw—I treat it as a form of meditation. I use a slow, multi-layered technique with oil-based pencils or professional charcoal to ensure the expressions and aura look real. It takes hours of patience to build the depth, but that is the only way to do justice to these figures.
My 'Karmakshetra' in Nangloi, Delhi, is where these sketches come to life. Whether you are looking for a high-contrast charcoal piece or a vibrant color rendering, I focus on the details that matter—the eyes, the jewelry, and the serene expression. I never use digital shortcuts; every line is handmade.
For the color portraits, I layer wax and oil-based pencils until the paper texture is filled, giving the art a painting-like finish that catches the light beautifully. Because I do not rush the process, these pieces take between 10 to 15 days to complete, depending on the complexity. I use artist-grade pigments to ensure your artwork stays vibrant for years. I ship across India, and I pack every frame with extra care to ensure the charcoal or colors remain untouched during transit. If you want a specific deity sketch for your home temple or as a gift, I am here to create it with all my heart.
