Miniature & Dot Art Portraits
Looking for art that stops people in their tracks? Whether it is a coin-sized micro-portrait for your locket or an intricate dot-work piece, I create tiny details with a big emotional impact.
A micro-portrait of MS Dhoni and his wife Sakshi, drawn with an incredibly sharp pencil point. This showcases my ability to work on a tiny scale.
This is a dot portrait. The entire image is created by filling in tiny circles, a painstaking process that results in a unique, textured artwork.
Step 1 of the dot portrait: the A3 paper with the grid of thousands of empty circles before I begin.
Step 3 of the dot portrait: the image is starting to emerge as I fill in the dots in the upper half of the paper.
Step 4 of the dot portrait: the face is now clearly visible, created entirely from filled-in dots.
Step 2 of the dot portrait: I have started filling in the dots at the top to form the hair.

About Unique Creations: Miniature & Dot Art
These pieces are exercises in extreme patience. For my miniature portraits, I use a 0.3mm mechanical pencil to capture expressions on a surface no larger than a coin, while my dot portraits rely on thousands of hand-placed stippled marks to build shading. It takes hours of focused work, but the result is a one-of-a-kind piece that surprises everyone who sees it.
Precision in Every Dot and Stroke
When I work on a dot portrait, or stippling art, I am not just drawing lines. I am building the image layer by layer using only dots. This style creates a unique, textured look that stands out from standard graphite sketches. Because every single dot is placed by hand, these pieces take significant time, but they capture light and shadow in a way that feels different and fresh.
Miniature Art for Personal Keepsakes
My micro-portraits are designed for moments you want to keep close. Drawing a face within a 2.5cm to 3cm space requires intense focus. These are perfect for:
- Locket inserts: Carrying a loved one's face wherever you go.
- Wallet windows: A unique piece of art that fits perfectly.
- Special gifts: Something so small and detailed that it truly surprises the receiver.
How We Get Started
For these specialized styles, the quality of your reference photo is very important. Since I am working on such a small scale or using a dot-based technique, a clear, high-resolution photo helps me catch those tiny details that make the portrait look real.
Once the drawing is complete, I apply an archival fixative spray. This ensures your portrait is protected from smudging and yellowing. I pack these delicate pieces in rigid, waterproof containers to ensure they reach you anywhere in India without bending or damage.
