I design therapeutic yoga sequences to address the root causes of chronic pain rather than just managing symptoms. These movements focus on restoring your natural alignment and mobility.

Chronic pain is a signal from your body that something is out of balance. My yoga classes are designed not just to manage pain but to address its root cause, helping you move towards a life of freedom and ease.

Diabetes can be managed and even reversed with the right lifestyle changes. Here, one of our doctors demonstrates key asanas like Mandukasana (Frog Pose) and Dhanurasana (Bow Pose) that help stimulate the pancreas and improve metabolic function.

This is an advanced inversion practice using aerial props for support. Performing Shirshasana (Headstand) this way creates gentle traction along the entire spine, which can help decompress the vertebrae and alleviate nerve pressure.

This sequence begins with Marjaryasana (Cat Pose), where we round the spine to release tension in the neck and upper back. This is a fundamental movement for improving spinal flexibility and preparing the body for deeper backbends.

From a neutral tabletop position, this image shows the preparation for Bitilasana (Cow Pose). This initial posture helps align the wrists, shoulders, and knees, ensuring a safe and effective stretch for the spine.

Here is the full expression of Bitilasana (Cow Pose), where the chest is opened and the tailbone is lifted. This movement, when paired with Cat Pose, warms up the spine, improves posture, and stimulates the abdominal organs.

This is Vyaghrasana (Tiger Pose), a balancing posture that strengthens the entire back, core, and leg muscles. Extending the opposite arm and leg challenges your stability and improves neuromuscular coordination.

A closer view of Vyaghrasana, highlighting the importance of maintaining a straight line from fingertips to toes. This asana is excellent for toning the spinal nerves and improving balance, which is crucial for overall stability.

Yoga is a meditation in motion, a way to unite the self with the divine. This video shows the flow through Virabhadrasana (Warrior Pose), which builds strength and stamina while cultivating a focused and serene mind.

In our group classes, we work on building core strength, which is the foundation of a healthy body. Here, students are practicing a variation of Phalakasana (Plank Pose), a powerful asana for strengthening the arms, abdomen, and back.

About Therapeutic Yoga for Specific Ailments

Unlike generic fitness classes, therapeutic yoga focuses on functional movement rather than muscle hypertrophy. When we work on your spine or joints, we are not just stretching; we are creating space between the vertebrae and calming the nervous system. Whether you are dealing with a persistent slipped disc or general stiffness, the goal is to align your body so it can heal itself from within.

Moving from Symptom to Solution

Many come to me looking for a quick fix for back pain or stiffness. My practice is different because we begin with Nadi Parikshan (pulse diagnosis). Before you step on a mat, we must understand the dosha imbalance causing the inflammation or rigidity.

How Therapeutic Yoga Differs

  • Precision over Intensity: We do not rush through flows. In these sessions, we focus on the mechanics of each asana to ensure you are not aggravating the injury.
  • Spinal Decompression: Techniques like aerial-supported Shirshasana and controlled backbends are used to gently decompress vertebrae, which is critical for those suffering from sciatica or nerve compression.
  • Root Cause Targeting: For conditions like diabetes, we practice Mandukasana and Dhanurasana to stimulate pancreatic function, not just to burn calories. This is the difference between exercise and chikitsa (therapy).

What to Expect

Each session is calibrated to your specific health history. We do not use a 'one-size-fits-all' routine. If your vayu (air element) is high, causing joint pain, we focus on grounding, warm movements. If your issue is metabolic, we incorporate detoxifying kriyas. My role is to act as your guide, teaching you how to move with awareness until your body remembers how to function without pain.
