I create comfortable and stylish networking spaces, like this boho-chic outdoor lounge. The blend of natural wood furniture, soft textiles, and ambient paper lanterns provides a relaxed yet elegant setting for guests to connect.
For a 50th anniversary with a "Vintage Romance" theme, I created this warm and inviting lounge area. The mix of velvet and wood furniture, pampas grass, and soft lighting created a nostalgic and elegant atmosphere.

About Chic Lounge & Networking Spaces
When setting up these lounges, we focus on modularity to fit any venue. We combine Chesterfield sofas, accent armchairs, and soft rugs to break up open spaces, creating pockets of privacy even in busy ballrooms. It is all about giving your guests a reason to stop, sit, and actually talk to one another rather than just standing around.
Standard event seating often separates people into rows, which kills the energy of a corporate mixer or social gathering. My approach is to replace that formality with intentional, high-comfort lounge zones that serve as a bridge between the event's activities.
Why Lounge Zones Work
Good networking is rarely accidental. By placing plush velvet sofas near high-traffic areas and adding low lighting, I subconsciously tell guests that this is a place to slow down and connect. Whether we are styling a boho-chic outdoor garden or a sophisticated indoor ballroom, the furniture selection matters.
My Styling Process
- Zoning: We identify the natural flow of the venue. I place seating clusters to encourage conversation without blocking walkways.
- Textural Depth: I avoid plastic or flimsy materials. We use velvet upholstery, wooden coffee tables, and natural textures like pampas grass or cane to ground the setup in luxury.
- Ambiance: Lighting is the secret ingredient. We use warm floor lamps or suspended paper lanterns to define the space, making it feel distinct from the rest of the room.
