- Structural Changes: Correction of shoulder drops, adjusting armhole depth, shortening sleeves, and hemline length adjustment while preserving original borders.
- Heavy Fabric Care: Specialized handling for lined garments, padded blouses, and sequined fabrics to prevent needle damage.
Process & Finish
- Masterji Consultation: Measurement session to determine comfort vs. tight fit preferences.
- Trial Session: Includes one trial fit to verify measurements before final handover.
- Finishing: Re-interlocking of inner seams and steam ironing.

- Silhouette Changes: Converting Anarkalis to straight suits or reshaping wide-legged pants into cigarette pants.
- Neckline & Sleeves: Changing neckline shapes (e.g., Round to Sweetheart) or adding trendy sleeve styles like puff or bell sleeves.
- Detailing: Addition of piping, latkans, or lace borders (laces provided by client).
Reconstruction Specs
- Pattern Recutting: Dismantling specific panels to recut the fabric for the new design.
- Structural Support: Adding or replacing bust cups (padding) and heavy-duty zippers in blouses or gowns.
- Lining Update: Replacement of worn-out inner lining in modified sections.
Saree Upcycling & Transformation
Transformation Process
- Deconstruction: Carefully opening the saree and cutting panels to avoid worn-out areas or stains.
- New Design: Stitching a completely new outfit (Lehenga Skirt + Blouse, Gown, or Anarkali) utilizing the borders and pallu.
Material Inclusions
- Double Lining: Includes high-quality Shantoon/Crepe primary lining plus a secondary Cotton inner lining.
- Volume Addition: Includes heavy-duty Cancan (Hard Net) layers for flare.
- Reinforcement: Fusing and canvas pasting on yokes, belts, and hemlines to support fabric weight.
- Essentials: Includes bra-pads, invisible zippers, and fabric-matching dori with basic handmade tassels.

How I Work My Magic

- Ethnic wear feeling outdated? I’ll switch up necklines, sleeves or the whole silhouette to give it a modern ethnic wear tailoring twist.
- If you’ve got ready-made clothes that just don’t sit right, I’m good at custom fit dress adjustments so they hug you just right.

You bring the garment and your idea, maybe even a picture for inspo. I’ll check out the fabric and chat with you about what’ll look best. Once you’re happy, I get to work. You stay involved from start to finish, so you’re never surprised.

Namaste! We are Shyam Ji Tailors, Moti Bagh waale. Since 1985, our shop has been buzzing with ideas, designs, and chai. People come thinking custom dresses are tough and costly, but humne toh simple bana diya (we made it easy). We love making clothes that fit just right, bringing smiles when someone tries a new look. Trends change, but confidence in a perfect fit, woh kabhi purana nahi hota (that never gets old).
