Non-Surgical Kidney Stone Treatment
You do not always need surgery for kidney stones. See how personalized Ayurvedic protocols help dissolve stones naturally, as shown in these patient journeys.
Hear directly from a patient who was advised to have surgery for his kidney stone. I am happy to share that with my Ayurvedic treatment plan, he was able to avoid the procedure and pass the stone naturally. This is the kind of result I work towards.
This is the "before" report. A patient's ultrasound from November 2023 clearly shows a 6.8 mm kidney stone, which was causing him extreme pain. This is the clinical starting point of our treatment journey.
This is the "after" report for the same patient, just a few months later in January 2024. The report shows a normal study with no evidence of stones. This is proof that my Ayurvedic medicines work to crush and dissolve stones, helping them pass without surgery.
Recognizing the signs of kidney stones is the first step towards getting relief. This guide shows common symptoms like sharp back or stomach pain, fever, and changes in urination that you should not ignore. Early diagnosis helps in more effective non-surgical treatment.
About Featured
Instead of opting for immediate surgery, my clinical process focuses on dissolving stones using specific bhasma and herbal syrups. Once these formulations break down the stone matrix into gravel, it passes naturally through the urinary tract. This approach has helped patients like Sachin avoid surgical intervention, even with stones larger than 6mm, by focusing on the root cause rather than just the symptoms.
How Our Non-Surgical Process Works
When a patient arrives with ultrasound reports showing renal calculi, the first step is determining the nature of the stone—whether it is Vataj or Pittaj in origin. This is done through pulse diagnosis (Nadi Pariksha) and a review of your KUB reports. We do not apply a generic solution to everyone; instead, we formulate a targeted plan.
Our treatment relies on a three-pronged approach:
- Stone Dissolution: We use proprietary lithotriptic syrups and mineral-herbal bhasma sachets. These act internally to reduce the stone matrix, effectively shrinking it over time.
- Diuretic Support: To ensure the crushed gravel flushes out without causing severe colic, we prescribe diuretic tablets that increase urine output while balancing pH levels to prevent burning sensations.
- Dietary Alignment: You receive a printed list of foods to avoid, such as tomatoes or specific oxalate-rich vegetables, and suggestions like barley water to support kidney health during the dissolution phase.
Why Consider This Approach?
Many patients come to my Powai clinic after being told that surgery is their only option. While surgery has its place in emergency medicine, chronic or recurring stones often respond well to consistent Ayurvedic management. Our goal is not just to clear the current stone but to alter the internal environment of the kidneys so that new stones do not form.
If you are experiencing sharp back or flank pain, or if you have previously passed stones and are worried about recurrence, we start with a 30-minute diagnostic session to assess your current situation. This allows us to track your progress with follow-up scans, ensuring the treatment is moving you toward a stone-free status.
