From traditional Margam recitals to thematic storytelling, I bring classical Bharatanatyam to your special events. Whether it's an intimate gathering or a large-scale launch, I curate each performance to fit the moment.

A performance celebrating Vijayadashami, the triumph of good over evil. This piece, 'Devi', choreographed by my Guru, explores the power and glory of the goddess through energetic and expressive Bharatanatyam.

Just a simple moment of movement from a performance last November. Every time I get on stage, I'm reminded of why I love this art form. It's a feeling of pure joy and connection.

A throwback to my performance at the Madras Music Academy. This Varnam, a central piece in a Bharatanatyam recital, was a joy to learn and perform, showcasing a blend of pure dance and expressive storytelling.

An excerpt from the Sharada Bhujanga, a piece dedicated to the goddess of knowledge and arts. Performing this as part of 'Devi', a production by my Guru, was a moment of deep gratitude and devotion.

Performing the Sharada Bhujangam at Natanakairali. This piece, choreographed by my Guru, is a beautiful exploration of devotion, and I love sharing its story with the audience.

Portraying the grace of Sita and the elegance of Rama in the production 'Tyagaraja Hruth Sadana'. Group choreographies bring a different kind of energy and connection to the stage.

A glimpse into my performance of the Sri Annapoorneshwari Stotram. This piece is a tribute to the goddess as the provider of nourishment, a beautiful composition by Sri Adi Shankaracharya.

Snippets from my performance of 'Devi' at the Gudiya Sambhrama temple festival. It's always special to perform pieces that celebrate the divine feminine in such a sacred and beautiful setting.

A still from my HCL concert at the Madras Music Academy. This moment captures the feeling of complete surrender and gratitude that I experience during a performance.

A dynamic pose from a Bharatanatyam performance at Natanakairali. This showcases the physical rigor and flexibility that classical dance demands, combining strength with grace.

About On the Stage: Solo Performances

I don't just step onto a stage and dance. I curate each repertoire to match the specific energy of your venue and audience, often providing English introductions so your guests, no matter their background, feel deeply connected to the stories I am telling. Whether you need a short, high-energy invocation for a brand launch or a full hour-long traditional recital, we will work together to ensure the selection fits your event's flow perfectly.

The magic of a solo performance lies in the connection between the dancer and the audience. My training, under the guidance of my Guru Sri P. Praveen Kumar, focuses on more than just technique; it is about bringing abhinaya (expression) to the forefront.

When we plan your event, we have a few options to consider. For corporate launches or inaugurations, I often recommend a high-energy solo piece, like an invocation or a fast-paced Tillana, which lasts between 10 to 15 minutes. This creates a striking opening without overwhelming the schedule.

If you are hosting an event where dance is the central focus, such as a private recital or a cultural celebration, we can arrange a full Margam. These sessions last up to 75 minutes and allow for a deeper exploration of themes. I often intersperse these with narrations to bridge the gap for those less familiar with the classical arts, making the experience accessible and engaging.

Logistically, I manage the performance details myself, from the traditional Kanjeevaram costumes and temple jewelry to the audio production. If you choose the full live orchestra option, I coordinate with a four-piece ensemble—vocals, mridangam, nattuvangam, and violin or flute—to bring an authentic, powerful acoustic experience to your stage. My goal is to ensure the performance feels like a seamless, respectful extension of your event.

I’m Shreema. While I’ve spent years training in Bharatanatyam, I’m also just a person who loves the process of turning movement into emotion. My shows aren't about stiff tradition; they are about storytelling that feels alive, whether I’m performing in a temple or on a corporate stage.
