About Film & Television Acting
Why Acting Feels Right
Acting came to me like a natural step after years of dancing. For me, it’s way more than just memorizing lines or pretending to be someone else. I look for myself in every character and, honestly, sometimes I find sides of me I didn’t know existed. Some days, it’s tough to crack open those emotions, but the reward is worth it.
My Style & Training
Bharatanatyam gave me everything I know about expression. Those rasas - the big feelings in Indian arts - guide how I approach every on-screen character work. Whether it’s tackling raw fear or finding quiet joy, I try to keep it real. I don’t shy away from the tough stuff, and I always go deep.
Some Projects I’ve Loved
- Dange / Por: Bilingual madness! Played Bhama, who switched from doctor to dancer on screen. It was exhausting, but that’s where I really grew.
- Ponniyin Selvan 2: My role was tiny, but wow, just being part of Mani Ratnam’s world…unreal.
- Phir Kabhi: Sometimes a shoot is just friends, laughter, and great locations.
What It’s Like on Set
Film sets are pure energy. I thrive in that collaborative film set environment. Every good scene is a team win, not just mine.
The Real Stuff
It’s not all glamour. There’s a lot of self-doubt, retakes, and long hours. But I’ve learned to celebrate small wins and trust the process. This journey isn’t perfect, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

My Story
Hey, I’m Shreema. Dancer, actor, model, sketch artist when the mood hits, and if you offer me chai, I’m yours. Been learning Bharatanatyam since I was four - my guru Praveen Kumar, he’s shaped everything. Ten years back, I wouldn’t have believed where I’d land. It’s been wild: survival, tiny dreams, disappointments, hope. I’m still figuring it out, honestly. Trusting the process, being kind to myself, and loving every bit of this journey.
My Work
What I do - I perform Bharatanatyam at events, act in films, and model. Sometimes all at once!
The real story behind the art - Grace on stage? Sure. But it’s mostly sweat, injuries, self-doubt, and some scheduling nightmares. Worth it, though.
My style - Dance means perspective. I mix traditional Padams with improv Bharatanatyam acts, sometimes giving mythology a modern twist.
Beyond just dance - I've danced on stages from UK to Saudi. Also acted in films like Ponniyin Selvan 2. Each one, a new adventure.
